Thomas Boston wrote "The Art of Manfishing" as a 22 year old probational preacher awaiting assignment to a parish. In January of 1699, he read Matthew 4:19 ("Come follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."). He wrote down his thoughts while meditating on the passage, and the result is this classic book on evangelism. First published in 1773, this book shows Boston as a man filled with concern for the lost around him. He wanted to be a Manfisher. May reading his work stir the same desire in you. The Funeral service was held November 7, 2000 for the former pastor of Hillcrest Alliance Church. It was well attended by the family, people from the Hillcrest Alliance church, the local community, and from Christian and Missionary Church.

"Hypocrites Deficient in the Duty of Prayer". In this sermon, Edwards explains that some people who are unconverted can display the external signs of being a Christian, and can even have regular secret prayer life for a short while. But in the long run, they will fall away from private prayer. Unconverted hypocrites will not have a regular prayer life. This sermon will encourage you to carefully consider your own conversion and its fruits as displayed in your prayer life. This text is in the public domain.
